Ernest DelMonico of DelMonico Hatter was recognized as the "Hat Retailer of the Year." DelMonico was honored at the Annual Dinner of The Headwear Association, held March 20th, 2008 at the landmark Tavern on the Green restaurant in New York City's Central Park.

The Headwear Association promotes hat wearing in general and the Headwear Industry itself, and fosters goodwill and fellowship amongst those engaged in the hat business.

In announcing the Hat Retailer of the Year Award, the Association said:

"DelMonico Hatter is a thoroughly modern business formed by a strong tradition, with a sophisticated e-commerce website as well as a 'bricks and mortar' store on Elm Street in New Haven, Connecticut. Through these two channels it offers a superb choice of men's hats and caps in every possible style and from a wide range of international and domestic manufacturers, backed by exceptional service."

Members of the DelMonico Hatter team made a trip from New Haven to New York City for the Awards Dinner.
