I own all six colors in this hat. The hemp is cooler in hot weather than any other material I have tried. The sizing is a little variable, but is generally a half size large. I have a steamer at home, so I can adjust the size a little on my own. The material lends itself to hand molding, but a little steam helps. Some of these are easier to hand mold than others, but they all are the "straw" equivalent to an old school fur $25 hat (40's and 50's). I wear the 7 1/2 and 7 5/8 in this fedora. The crown height and brim width are excellent. There may be higher crowns available in a hemp fedora, but I haven't found them.

This is the classic Stratoliner . The hemp is firm but still flexible. The finishing details, the sheepskin sweat band, the Strat ribbon and pin with the contrasting bound edge sets this hat apart from most summer hats. Beautiful, durable, comfortable and not the same old summer Panama. If you read other reviews, you heard that it runs big. True! One size down worked for me. The service from Delmonico was wonderful!
